November recap

December is on its way and we couldn’t be more excited for the holiday season! Before the Christmas festivities begin we want to share with you all the adventures we went on in November!

To kick off the month, Will and Hayden trekked on over to The Gabba and had an afternoon of cricket and stadium hot dogs and chippies!

Some of our crew managed to catch Crowded House play their groovy and most popular songs live at A Day on the Green! It was a beautiful day on Sirromet Wines as the crew vibed along to Don’t Dream its Over, Hey Now Hey Now, and World Where you Live.

While some of the crew were watching Crowded House, Matthew and Mia had a visit from Dua Lipa! Dua Lipa bedazzled everyone with her outfits and had everyone dancing along to her top hits!

Supanova came back to Brisbane and had a massive lineup of guests, the exhibition and convention centre was filled with cosplayers, and there was a variety of stalls for us to visit and shop from. Our crew left Supanova feeling like they stepped out of a comic book or a superhero movie…

Soccer fan Maddy and Stella drove up to Moreton Daily Stadium to catch the Brisbane Roar take on Sydney FC in an intense and gruelling match, but at the end of the afternoon Brisbane Roar came out of the match as victors 🥇

Kings of Leon fans – Tim and Arakai, made their way to Brisbane Entertainment Centre to see them perform live!

The sun came out of hiding for us as we took a crew to Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) for a weekend getaway! It was a weekend filled with surfing, dancing, and of course it wouldn’t be a Let’s Go outing without a BBQ! To find out more about our trip, check out our Straddie Trip blog on our website:

Some of us kickstarted our Saturday with a boogie with Bring a Plate Dance! We spent the morning getting our bodies moving to the music and practiced our dance routine so we are ready to perform at the End of Year Party on the 3rd of December!

It was a very tight match and really could have gone either way but unfortunately the Bullets did not come out of the game as champions ! Although it was an unfortunate loss, the atmosphere of the stadium was absolutely amazing and all the fans (including us) were cheering as loud as they possibly could!

Guns n Roses made their way down under for a show to remember! Matthew, Arakai, Joel and George made their way to Suncorp Stadium to see the one and only Guns n Roses rock and roll their way into everyones heart!

Our last trivia night of the year was a massive hit! With a whole new set of questions for us to answer, it really had everyones cogs turning. From guessing the names of different dog breeds, to guessing the album cover and band, to figuring out the theme songs of a variety of tv shows, there was a question for everyone to answer! We can’t wait for what 2023 trivia nights have in store for us 🤩

Our biggest Bad Dreems fan – Arakai, had an opportunity of a life time to not only see the band plan in an accessible venue but to catch them at their sound check before the show!

To end the month, a few of our Flying Kiwi athletes were invited to the Flying Kiwi formal. Everyone got all dressed up in their suits and dresses, it truly was a magical moment and a great way to celebrate all of the athletes achievements in the past year!

The last Sunday of November was spent at the Bardon Bowls Club! We savoured as much sun as we could and played a few games of barefoot bowls and even managed to squeeze in a game of cricket before the rain came along! But the poor weather didn’t stop the fun as we gathered under the marquee and had a picnic style lunch !
