July recap

Home / News / July recap

August may be here but who says we can’t have a look at the memories we made in July!

We kicked off the month with a fun day out playing putt putt. It was a Pixar themed game and everyone had a fun finding their favourite characters. We ended the day with a big delicious feed at Eat Street and danced the night away to some country tunes.

We also attended multiple NRL games, the biggest and most exciting one being the State of Origin. The stadium had come to life, with the crowd roaring with excitement, I reckon the Let’s Go crew had the loudest cheer and had the most energy.

For our art enthusiast Ash, we planned a day for him to visit the Imaginaria art exhibit as well as visiting the Chiharu Shiota exhibition at GOMA. To finish off the afternoon, we took Ash on the one and only channel 7 ferris wheel in South Bank. He went to great heights and saw the best view of Brisbane!

For the Broncos vs Dragons game we hosted a pre-game BBQ and invited our good friends Ali Brigginshaw and Alex Glenn to join in on the fun and host a mini meet and greet session for our fellow Broncos fans. After the game, a few of us had the opportunity to meet some Broncos players at a meet and greet session the Broncos Leagues Club hosted. It was big cheery smiles all around!

On a musical note, we had the opportunity to take Tim and Arakai to Splendour in the Grass ! Although the weather wasn’t the best, we powered through and took advantage of the sun that came along later in the weekend.

We also took a few individuals to an ABBA tribute show. They had the whole crowd singing along to Dancing Queen and Mamma Mia. It was a show to remember!!

A few of us had the time of their lives watching the Wallabies vs England game. It was a chilly night but the excitement from seeing the Wallabies had us all warmed up and cheering as loud as we can.

We had a fun little Sunday social down at New Farm Merthyr Bowls. We took a crew out to learn how to play lawn bowling. The weather was absolutely perfect so we decided to cap off the afternoon with a chill stroll along the river.

We took our Aston Villa fan – Matthew, to the Aston Villa vs Leeds United game this month as well! It was definitely the perfect day for a soccer game down at Suncorp as the sun shone down on the field. Hats, sunnies, and sunscreen were a must that day.

To finish off such a fun event filled month, the Let’s Go staff had a team hangout to encourage team bonding, as well as share any improvements or suggestions to help make Let’s Go the best it can be!
