February recap

February may be a short month, but we truly made the most out of it!! We had a variety of events on every weekend and we want to share with you all the things we got up to.

We kicked off the month with a Friday night social at B.Lucky and Sons. The crew spent the evening battling it out on Mario kart to see who the best racer is, or teaming up and challenging other teams to a game of air hockey, or were preoccupied with shooting dinosaurs or aliens.

Laneway made its way back to Brisbane after their Covid break and the festival was better than ever. With big international and national acts hitting the stage, the whole festival crowd were in awe and hyped up to see their favourite artists. Arakai and George planned out their festival route to see their favourite artists from Julia Jacklin to The Jungle Giants.

It was the last Bullets game of the season and we wouldn’t miss it for the world! We supported the boys and cheered our hardest, manifesting they would shoot the winning hoop. Although the Bullets lost, we are super proud of the Bullets and we have loved every single game this season.

As big Broncos fans and supporters, a crew made their way to Kougari Oval to support the Broncos play a trial match against the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls. It was a fantastic win for the Broncos and it was the perfect way to get everyone hyped for the upcoming season.

A few made their way to Blutes one evening to spend their weeknight singing their hearts out. You could pretty much hear us all belting out songs from miles away!

Up the mighty Broncs!! This was a seriously tough game, with everyones eyes on the score board… Although the end result was a tie, the Broncos fought hard and showed some serious strength 🏉 We can’t wait to see them in action soon!

Arakai and George took advantage of the beautiful, sunny, Queensland weather and made their way to Summer Salt festival. The boys spent the afternoon listening and vibing to Angus and Julia Stone, City and Colour, Middle Kids, and many many more amazing acts.

The final trial game before the season commences! The Broncos took on the Cowboys at Sunshine Coast Stadium and managed to score the winning goal. It was a fantastic game, the evening was filled with lots of laughs, chatter and cheers!

A group of us visited Jungle Adventure Play for an afternoon of putt putt in their new 16-hole jungle themed putt putt course. It was the perfect Sunday arvo activity to wrap up the week.

Ed Sheeran made his way down under after taking a break from touring due to Covid and he had us in for a real treat. He sang all of our favourite songs from ‘Sing’ to ‘Perfect’ and even ‘Bad Habits’. The whole crowd were on their feet or on the edge of their seats and we all sang or grooved along together to all of his songs.

Kieran and Stephen made their way down to Sirromet Winery with David and Dean to catch Sting’s concert! It was an evening filled with bangers and throwbacks that everyone loves.

An early morning surf lessons at Sunshine Coast is the best way to wake yourself up and get yourself ready for the day! A group of us spent the morning learning how to surf at Alexandra Headlands, some managed to stand and some body surfed their way to the beach. It was the perfect day for it and to cap off the afternoon we cooked up a delicious BBQ to feed everyone’s hungry bodies.

George and Arakai had lots of laughs this weekend as they made their way to Fortitude Music Hall to catch Noel Miller in action. He had the whole crowd in fits of laughter and made everyone cry tears of joy!

To finish off the month right, a crew spent their evening at QPAC catching the Harry Potter concert. They spent the evening with Harry Potter and his friends in Hogwarts as they try to fight Voldemort. It was a truly spectacular and one of a kind experience as the sound track of the movie was played by a very talented live orchestra.

Lachlan, Riley, and Will spent their last weekend of February in the Sunshine Coast for a boys-staycation! They spent the weekend frolicking on beaches, attending a surf lesson, spending nights out at restaurants, and playing putt putt. It was a fantastic weekend away and we can’t wait to plan many more🏖
