December recap

Home / News / December recap

December is a month filled with Christmas cheer, festivities and lots of celebrating with our friends and family. With 2023 starting, we wanted to look back at all the fun we had in December.

We kicked off the month with our End of Year Disco! It was great to gather everyone at Benga Box to not only celebrate what a great year 2022 has been, but also 4 years of Let’s Go! We would like to give a big thanks to our favourite local bands – Leucadia and Mondeo for starting the night off with some live acoustics and getting everyone in the party mood. A big shout out to Bring a Plate Dance crew and DJ Eddy for hyping everyone up and getting us dancing on the d-floor 💃 And lastly, thank you to the Kraut N’ About crew for feeding us all night long and giving us the energy we need to boogie the night away! Whilst others were having a sleep in the day after the disco, Will and Kayden went to watch the Bullets take on the Tasmania Jackjumpers! Unfortunately, the Bullets did not win the game but the energy at the stadium was unmatched and truly out of this world.

We are all super pumped up for the Broncos season to start next year, so of course we couldn’t pass on the opportunity of attending their Christmas Party! We spent the morning at Suncorp Stadium playing touch on the field, meeting players and getting their autographs, and even visit their locker room! The Broncos are truly a gift that keeps on giving 🤩

Kayden and Dean went to their first ever baseball game and it sure was a good one. The crowds energy was wild and contagious, and the Bandits played so well and the competition had everyone on the edge of their seats. It was the perfect day for it ⚾️

Billy and Arakai headed up to the Sunshine Coast to attend Buy Your Mates Beer Day festival by Your Mates Brewing Co. Their afternoon was filled with a variety of delicious local beer to taste and an amazing lineup of bands and musicians who got everyone in the dancing mood.

The sun was shining and the birds were chirping, it truly was the perfect day for a game of cricket. Matthew and Robbo made their way to the Gabba for Day 1 of South Africa vs Australia test match. The energy at the stadium was unmatched, every seat was filled, and the game had everyone on the edge of their seats.

One of Billy’s favourite bands – Hands like Houses, made their way to Brisbane after a long time and he got to see them play live!

As the sun started to set, a few of us got into the Christmas spirit and made their way to Roma Street Parklands for a Moonlight Cinema screening of Home Alone. Everyone got out their picnic blankets and cuddled together with a hot chocolate in hand as we watched one of the best Christmas movie of all time under the stars.

Before we parted ways in preparation for all the holiday activities, we went to support the Brisbane Bullets in their second last home game of the year! It was an unfortunate loss but everyone was in high spirits and cheered the Bullets on as loud as they could.

We ended December with a big bash as a group of us headed to the Gabba to watch the Brisbane Heat take on the Adelaide Strikers.

Costa and Nus went to support the Bullets in their last home game of the year! It was a great way to end 2022 as the Bullets finished the game with a win 🏆
