August Recap

Home / News / August Recap

August, like every other month, has flown by and now September is knocking on our door! With the new month starting, we wanted to share some pictures and memories from the events we had in August.

Matthew and Harry kicked off August at Greazefest. They spent the day looking at retro cars to new cars and everything in between!

Some of the girls kicked off their August with a girls night at Yatala Drive In Cinema. They watched and sang along to Grease: The Sing-A-Long!

Johnny and Robbo made their way to the Back Room to catch their favourite rock band – Unwritten Law, live and in action! They spent the night singing along to all the songs and dancing to the tunes.

With the NRL season ending soon, we were happy to catch the Broncos go head to head with the Eels in their second last home game before the Finals Series. We cheered them on hard as they scored try after try after try! It was a fantastic game and a even more fantastic evening.

The Princess Theatre gave our crew complimentary tickets to catch the one and only – Full Flower Moon Band! It was a night to remember, Full Flower Moon Band had the whole crowd singing along. A big thank you to The Princess Theatre for supporting us and the Good Times!

Trent and Joel made their way to Totally Workwear Stadium to say G’day to the Broncos NRLW team! The boys caught them in action as they went head to head with the Eels.

Tim and Josh had the chance to catch the Matildas in action in the semi finals of the Fifa WWC! The Matildas played against the Lionesses in an intense match. The game had everyone on the edge of their seats and had the whole crowd going wild. It was an unfortunate loss for The Tillies, but we are proud of how far they have come!

Peter and Hayden made their way up to and spent the week in the beautiful and sunny city – Cairns ! They took the Queensland Rail all the way to Cairns and spent the days sipping cocktails, eating delicious seafood, and chilling by the ocean.

We had a crew spend an afternoon at the Gabba catching the Lions go head to head with Adelaide crow on home soil. The sun was out, the vibes were high, it truly was the perfect day for it.

Some of us kicked off our weekend with a chill Saturday morning lawn bowling session at New Farm Bowls. After a couple hours of bowling and learning some tips and tricks from one another, we capped off the arvo with a delicious feed. I don’t think there is a better way to spend a Saturday morning!

It’s EKKA time!! Some of our crew spent the day at the Royal Queensland Show where we went on all our favourite rides, ate all our favourite carnival foods, played with all the farm animals, and of course we watched the spectacular night show to cap it all off.

Bryce and Zaide managed to catch the Fifa WWC Third Place match at Suncorp Stadium. The Matildas versed Sweden in the fight to the finish.

Mamma Mia! Here we go again! The Mamma Mia musical made its return to Brisbane for a few nights and some of our crew caught them live at QPAC. They performed everyones favourite ABBA songs and had the whole theatre singing and dancing.

The Dolphins made their way to Suncorp Stadium to play against the Cowboys and our crew made it to catch all the action live.

The warmer weather is fast approaching and soon enough we’ll be ditching the our jumpers and wetsuits! Ryleigh and Lachie spent a Saturday morning getting ready for morning of surf and sun. The two have been committed to our monthly surf sessions and the improvement in their surfing is commendable. They are both on their way to becoming absolute pro’s in the water!

The Lions have played amazing this year and this game was no different. A group of us went to watch the Lions go head to head with St Kilda at The Gabba. They played great and scored themselves a seat in the qualifying finals!

The final home game before the Finals Series. With a group of over 30 people, we made our way to Suncorp Stadium to cheer our Broncos boys on! We screamed hard as we watched them go head to head with the Melbourne Storm. The game had everyone on the edge of their seats and the scores were a tough call, but fate was not on the Broncos side… Although we lost, overall it was a fantastic game and the vibes were high. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend our Thursday night.
